PERFORMANCE COACH

Coach Aidan Howell grew up in Connecticut and first joined The Spot Athletics as an intern while finishing his degree in Exercise Science. He quickly proved himself as a coach and now brings his passion and experience back to The Spot full-time.

Aidan has worked in strength and conditioning across multiple settings—including military, collegiate, and the private sector—giving him a wide range of experience with athletes and clients of all backgrounds.

He has helped athletes qualify for both national and international competitions in weightlifting and powerlifting, and he enjoys coaching people of all ages and abilities to become their strongest, fastest, and healthiest selves.

As an accomplished strongman competitor, Aidan brings firsthand knowledge of elite performance. His achievements include winning the Arnold World Championship in the 105 kg class, America’s Strongest Man in the 90 kg class, and setting the axle clean and press world record in the 105 kg class at 420 pounds. These experiences fuel his ability to help others perform at their highest level, no matter their starting point.

Outside of the gym, Aidan enjoys the outdoors—whether it’s hiking the Long Trail in Vermont, fishing, or rock climbing. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Psychology and, fun fact, his go-to Starbucks order is a matcha latte with strawberry cold foam.
